Azealia Banks and Lana Del Rey set to collaborate
In terms of music-based hype, Azealia Banks and Lana Del Rey accounted for the vast majority of 2011's quota (and much of 2012's too) - so when Ryan Tedder of 'OneRepublic/writing songs for Adele and Beyonce' fame revealed that he was currently working on a collaboration piece for the pair, a parallel universe probably received some sort of catastrophic event, thus is the pull of the two artists.
"I've been canceling a lot of more expected writing sessions to do stuff that just freaks me out that I thinks cool. Azealia Banks scares me. Lana Del Rey scares me a little bit. Not in a bad way."
Early prediction: This song will be dull.

Perhaps the most covered/remixed of recent times has been given a fresh new perspective this morning from Smims&Belle (aka Foster The People), which features Azealia Banks. The remix isn't particularly groundbreaking, but that Banks verse at 1:20 works really well with the manic production. It's unfortunate that the rest of the remix lacks the same level of energy as the 1:20-2:50 section, because this could've been pretty special. [read more]
