Elton John to feature on new Queens Of The Stone Age album

by Kris De Souza, 07 February 2013

Josh Homme has an impressive track record when it comes to collaborations but Dave Grohl, just one of his many collaborators, has revealed that the latest name to appear on the forthcoming Queens Of The Stone Age album is none other than *George Michael voice* Sir Elton John.

The news broke as the Foo Fighters frontman interviewed Sir Elton on a U.S. chat show this week. The Crocodile Rock singer said; "I was in Vegas and I flew back to LA and Engelbert Humperdinck had written me a very sweet letter and asked me to sing a duet with him. He is part of my history and I couldn't say no so I went and recorded a song with him. Then I drove three blocks and went from Engelbert to Queens Of The Stone Age, which was a bit of a mindfuck."

Elton John is the latest in a line of eclectic names already confirmed for the new QOTSA record include The Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor and Mark Lanegan. Watch the interview below.
