Foals - 'Late Night' (Koreless Remix)
'Late Night' is the third single from Foals' recent Holy Fire album, which they are now deep into touring across the planet, and will be for the rest of this year.
A beautifully dark slow burner with an equally beautiful and dark video, the track is definite a high point from an album that has built upon and evolved the band from their initial two releases.
For his remix, Scottish producer Koreless has deconstructed the song into to nearly beatless, broken music box collage, discarding the band elements and focusing on twisting the vocal of Yannis Philippakis to new and weird places. These disarmingly sweet tones surround the omnipresent black heart of the song's lyrics, which now cascade in a strange and processed duet.
Check out the remix below, 'Late Night' is released on 22 April 2013.
