Foals - 'Late Night' (Koreless Remix)
'Late Night' is the third single from Foals' recent Holy Fire album, which they are now deep into touring across the planet, and will be for the rest of this year.
A beautifully dark slow burner with an equally beautiful and dark video, the track is definite a high point from an album that has built upon and evolved the band from their initial two releases.
For his remix, Scottish producer Koreless has deconstructed the song into to nearly beatless, broken music box collage, discarding the band elements and focusing on twisting the vocal of Yannis Philippakis to new and weird places. These disarmingly sweet tones surround the omnipresent black heart of the song's lyrics, which now cascade in a strange and processed duet.
Check out the remix below, 'Late Night' is released on 22 April 2013.
As you might have heard Foals are back and judging by the first single 'Inhaler', they're set for stadiums. The track is nothing short of huge and is complete with a colossal chorus and raw, atmospheric instrumentation that odes more to Rage Against the Machine than their math-rock roots. You should expect to hear it sung at every festival come the summer but for now you'll have to wait for their mini UK-tour. [read more]
