Ice Cube's son to play his dad in the N.W.A. biopic
O'Shea Jackson is reportedly playing his dad, Ice Cube, in the forthcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Although the news is still yet be confirmed, he may not be the only one playing his own progenitor: Erik Wright Jr, the son of Eazy E, has also been rumoured to play his own father in the long awaited feature.
"At that age people think that I was all serious and mean, but there was a mixture of hot and cold," Ice Cube says about his younger years, adding that his son is very similar to him. "I could turn on a dime. And he has my temperament." He also claims his son can recite the whole Straight Outta Compton record since he was only two years old, obviously approving of him playing his younger self - although Jackson Jr has never acted before.
Ice Cube is set to produce the film along with Dr. Dre and Eazy E's widow Tomica Woods-Wright; the project is still waiting for green light but with all these good news regarding its cast, it shouldn't be long until it does.
