Listen: The Yupps – 'Life'
You may, or may not have already heard of The Yupps. Anyway, they are a french trio from Metz, who formed in 2008 after a Bloc Party gig, and have since supported artists like MGMT, Darwin Deez and Panic At The Disco. They recently released an EP called Life, which has nothing to do with their previous release, Ground Zero(2010).
Here they display their influences, from the likes of Foals, Cut Copy and Tokyo Police Club. The title-track features a heavy bassline and some really good, multilayered, unpredictable synths, and if we want to stay in France, we can definitely say it's pretty similar to that of ‘Roman’ by their fellows Housse De Racket. Check it out.
