Lupe Fiasco to hang up his mic
Remember when Lupe Fiasco released his debut album, Food & Liquor and said it would be his only album? Well since then Lupe went on to record two more albums, but now the Chicago rapper has announced he will retire for good after the release of his two part sequel to that debut album, Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album.
Lupe took to his twitter to make the announcement saying "this album will probably be my last...its been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love an inspiration for me and my family…but my heart is broken and i see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this... My first true love was literature so I will return to that...Lupe Fiasco ends here..."
I think we safely say that Lupe Fiasco’s own brand of conscious hip hop will be a sad loss but if this new track, 'American Terrorist Pt2' is anything to go buy, the new record will be a glorious goodbye party. Part one of Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album will be released on the 25th September with the second part coming in the new year.
