Matthew Herbert to celebrate 'Herbert's Day' this August
There is a large Matthew Herbert celebration coming up on the 27th August, with no less than five new releases on what Accidental Records have proclaimed is 'Herbert’s Day'. As well as a double album filled with rare and unheard material, four of Herbert’s previous albums are being reissued by the label: his 1996 debut 100 lbs, 1998’s Around the House, the 2001 album Bodily Functions and his most recent album Scale.
Alongside the heap of releases, Matthew Herbert will soon by disguising himself under the alias Wishmountain and releasing Tesco on the 6th August. This should be an interesting release, as it the record is reportedly created entirely out of sounds made by the ten most sold objects at Tesco supermarkets. It sounds like it will either be brilliant or a complete disaster. We'll have to wait and see.
