Nine Inch Nails announce return dates
After Nine Inch Nails culminated its tour in 2009, Trent Reznor, frontman for the frequently re-worked lineup of alternative industrial legends, called it quits for the band. While Reznor continued to produce music for bands like How To Destroy Angels with his wife Mariqueen Maandig and score Oscar-winning film soundtracks with fellow How To Destroy Angels member Rob Sheridan, there was somewhat of an overwhelming feeling that Nine Inch Nails would be back soon.
The suspicions came true earlier this week when Reznor announced that the band will return, but with another reworked lineup. Included in the new version are Jane’s Addiction member Eric Avery, King Crimson member Adrian Belew, and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, as well as a few former Nine Inch Nails members.
Reznor announced the band would go on a lengthy tour later this year (he is currently touring with the aforementioned How To Destroy Angels) that would leak into 2014, with only a few sparse dates announced. So far, the band is scheduled to appear at the Rock ‘n’ Heim Festival in Hockenheim, Germany in mid-July, and at the Niigata, Japan Fuji Rocks Festival later that month.
As well, Billboard has word that the band will be appearing at August’s Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois as headliners. However, because the lineup has not been formally announced as of yet, nothing is confirmed.
