Roc Nation signs publishing deal with Warner Music
News broke earlier today of a deal between Jay-Z's Roc Nation label and Warner Music, in which the latter will own all the publishing rights of Roc Nation from here on out.
According to the deal, by the end of this year, Warner will own all of Jay-Z’s music that was made since 2008. The mega-label will also own the rights to all Roc Nation alums, which include Calvin Harris, J. Cole, Jay Electronica, Rita Ora, and more.
Speaking about the deal earlier, Jay-Z said: “The real meaning of success is being in the position to work with an individual you consider a friend. [Warner President] Jon Platt is such a person. He’s a man of extraordinary character as well as a remarkably talented executive with an ear for music and an eye for talent. It’s great to watch him grow to be one the best in the business.”
