Top 5 Videos of the Week: 26th January 2013
This week's top videos come from Widowspeak, Mykki Blanco, King Krule, Darkstar and The Cribs. Expect 60s design, parties, mystery, water and time travel.
We've tried to make it easier for you to enjoy our weekly roundup by putting all the videos into one handy playlist. You can still pick and choose which video to watch, but if you fancy watching our favourite videos back-to-back, this is the best way to do it!
We recommend selecting the HD option, making it fullscreen and relaxing in a comfy chair.
Aaron Craig from We Are Films, the company behind the wonderful new video from Widowspeak, spoke to us about the creation process:
"The music video 'Locusts' by Widowspeak was inspired by the old television show from the 60s called Shindig!. The show featured bands such as The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stone. So when Rob and Molly of Widowspeak came to us with this idea of creating something that looks like it's from a different generation, we were all over it. It was something so different than anything we'd done before and wanted a good challenge. We watched all the Shindig! videos and tried to pick up on characteristics of the videos (dancers, zooming/unstable shots, 4x3, etc) and then worked on incorporating them into the 'Locusts' video. We had so much fun and loved working with everyone from Widowspeak!"
