Best Coast - 'Fear Of My Own Identity' [Listen]
In honour of this year's Record Store Day celebrated on Saturday, all American surf rock band Best Coast released a 7", 'Fear of my Own Identity'. This record has been described as epitomising 'stoner existential paranoia' which pretty much sums it up with lyrics such as "I hope it's you but I know it's me" fading us out into their B side 'Who have I Cecome'. 'Fear of my own Identity', despite the edgy, drug fuelled undertones, manages to be upbeat and poppy at the same time. The hazy tones and catchy melody make it equal parts beach pop and stoner rock.
Havaianas have teamed up with Best Coast. Horrah! We're not 100% sure how a rubber sandal company and an indie-rock band meet, but it does mean we get treated to this rather lovely Lindstrøm remix of 'Boyfriend'. Excellent. [read more]

Best Coast are being very generous by offering up the opening track off their debut album, Crazy For You (out on 2nd August - formats CD / LP and DD), for you to download. The song is called 'Boyfriend' and you can download it below.
