Fleetwood Mac to tour the UK this September

by Larry Day (Google+), 30 January 2013

Mick Fleetwood has announced that the iconic group will head to the UK in September during their reunion tour, while speaking to BBC 6Music. Fleetwood Mac have caused a stir lately with rumours of them headlining Glastonbury and Bestival running rife – though these have recently been debunked from Emily Eavis and Rob Da Bank. Famously argumentative, the group in its current guise (Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Stevie Nicks) have pledged to perform not only the hits, but also some of the lesser-known tracks – and potentially fresh material, with Fleetwood confirming at least a few new songs:

"We decided, myself and Lindsey, went into the studio and created a calling card for Stevie letting her know we wanted to make new music. We had the greatest time and we made some really good music. Then her mother died and it wasn't time for her to be singing. Just recently though she has sung on three of them and we've recorded one original song of hers. So, we're going to go crazy and there will be something out that we will play onstage and that might become part of a long term plan over the next year. Our wish is going to come true and we will finish an album. I hope there is a demand for it, after we throw two or three songs out on the internet, and we might make an album."

So far however, dates and venues have yet to be announced. The tour kicks off in the US in April.
