Kanye West and D'Angelo shine at BET awards
The latest Kanye West single and R&B artist D’Angelo both made appearances at last night's BET awards. The annual event, which began in 2001, was held in Los Angeles and hosted by Samuel L Jackson. D'Angelo, who has avoided TV appearances since the release of his last album in 2000, performed a medley of his hit single 'How Does It Feel' and new song 'Sugar Daddy', which is taken from his upcoming album.
Performances were also given by Chris Brown, and West's group G.O.O.D. music, who joined him for performances of upcoming single 'New God Flow' as well as 'Mercy' and 'Cold'.
West and Jay-Z were awarded best group for The Throne and Beyonce grabbed the best female artist award, while Nicky Minaj won best female hip-hop artist. During the awards, tribute performances were also made for both Donna Summers and Whitney Houston.
