Pixies fire bassist Kim Shattuck
"Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today. Amazing experience. Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone."
Shattuck took the position following the departure of Kim Deal earlier in the year, but obviously things didn't work out. Are there any other bass players out there called Kim? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough, as the band have a pretty huge tour of North America planned for next year.
Billed as the first leg of their World Tour, Pixies have announced they'll be heading to the UK/EU later this year for an extensive tour, which takes in the likes of the Apollo in Manchester and London. [read more]
