Plastic Platform C34: Applescal

by The 405 (Google+), 06 February 2013

Pascal Terstappen under the name of Applescal has been riding a wave of adulation this week on The 405 and the wider music community, down to his superb latest release Dreaming in Key.

His third such album is an inspired listen that treads the colourful line between a subtle epuhoria with something almost of the melancholic, traversing through techno territory in a dreamy electronica facade - and you can listen the the stream of the album here. But before you do that, make sure to check out this expertly created mix that the man from the Netherlands created for us, containing some of the same rich vibes that will engross you and take you to that big castle in the sky for its hour-long duration. Seriously, it's something else. Download the mix and store it on whatever portable music device you kids have these days, and get lost (not being rude, just get lost in a beautiful headspace).

Dreaming in Key is out now via Atomnation - buy here.

"This mix is a blend of tracks that are danceable yet really deep and melodic. It’s a collections of tracks, that if played in a club, might cause a majority of the people to walk from the dancefloor, whilst the rest would surrender and lose themselves within the heavy bass-filled sounds echoing from the speakers. The peak of the mix is around 30 minutes when Petar Dundov's 'Distant Shores' hits its climax. This track is 12 minutes long and one of my favourite tracks of all times." - Pascal.
