Smashing Pumpkins to release "cruel record"

by Jon Carroll, 26 March 2013

Despite claiming that "the album is dead," Billy Corgan has announced that work has begun on a new Smashing Pumpkins record.

Corgan has described the new album as "a cruel record… vengeance is mine…" which can only lead to speculation that he'll be taking side-swipes at ex-members of the band, or his postman, or whatever else has been bothering him lately.

A release date is set for later this year. Meanwhile, you can catch the band as they tour Europe, Japan and North America throughout the rest of the year.

Corgan also wrote heartbreakingly beautiful songs. Below you will find fi... (continued) [read more]
