Twin Shadow + Saint Lou Lou: Hornstull Strand, Stockholm 16/11/12
This Friday there’s a lot going on in Stockholm; we've got Niki & The Dove, Simian Ghost, Mark Kozelek, a "secret" club gig by Rihanna and more, but this week's pick is the double-bill of Twin Shadow and rising pop act Saint Lou Lou at Hornstull Strand. Twin Shadow doesn’t need a presentation and Saint Lou Lou released their brilliant debut single 'Maybe You' in late August via Kitsuné. Check it out below.
Tickets at the door only. Full details here. Chosen by Johan Alm.
Mystery Jets: Cockpit, Leeds 21/09/12
With their latest album Radlands easily being among 2012's best albums, Mystery Jets have seen every deserved success. Following the dramatic departure of bass player Kai Fish on the eve of the album's release, Mystery Jets are currently touring their fourth album with a brand new member. The London band will be play at Cockpit, following a venue change, with support from Best Friends and House of Thieves.

Jessie Ware: Concorde 2, Brighton 12/11/12
Since graduating from London's oscillating, sub-bass schoolyard, Jessie Ware has established herself as a bona fide popstar. Her Mercury nominated debut album Devotion coupled the street sass of Ware's Rinse FM youth with a classic, soulful sophistication that won rave reviews across the board. Next time Jessie Ware returns to Brighton she'll be playing a much bigger venue, so don't miss this chance to catch her powerful live show in the relative intimacy of the Concorde 2.

The Proclaimers: O2 Academy, Glasgow 14/11/12
Everybody knows and loves The Proclaimers, even if they won’t admit it out loud. The Brothers Reid celebrate 26 years since their first album by touring their ninth album - as well as those well-loved songs like King Of The Road, I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) and many others, no doubt. The Proclaimers are joined on the road by special guests Blueflint, from Edinburgh. It's bound to be a real celebration of all things Scottish!

DIIV: The Garage, London 14/11/12
As the year comes to a close, we start to think about our favourite albums of the year. Oshin by DIIV is definitely a contender, and this might be your final chance to see them this year. A definite 'no-brainer'.

Ben Howard: O2 Apollo, Manchester 12/11/2012
Ben Howard is quite simply wonderful. His music has spread like wildfire through a seemingly word of mouth phenomena. He brings a wonderful mix of heart wrenching harmonies and beautiful guitar plucking to create some rather lovely contemporary folk-pop. Of course, you have probably heard his music around somewhere; his reach is that wide now! If Ben Howard is not enough alone to convince you to go then how about support from the one and only Willy Mason? Two wonderful songsmiths at the equally fantastic old cinema venue Apollo, what more can you ask for?
