The Smashing Pumpkins announce reissue of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
The Smashing Pumpkins have announced plans for a massive reissue of the band’s classic 1995 album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
Originally packaged as a double album, the reissue will be packaged as a 4xLP, 2xCD, and a digital version. However, there will also be a bigger 5xCD and DVD version available, which includes over 100 tracks.
The deluxe reissue includes 64 demos, live tracks, and alternative song takes. But perhaps the most alluring piece in the package is a Decoupage Kit, which you can use to create scenes from the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness universe.
The reissues are slated for release December 3rd and 4th, via EMI.

This special instalment of the regular favourite records feature is to celebrate the three years of Lazy Acre Records (and at the same time, to me, my almost-one-year-anniversary of working with them, but let's not go astray..); though at times straying to fade into electronica and twee, Lazy Acre Records mostly deal with folk, singer-songwriter, and pop tunes by often Scandinavian (but let's not generalise!) kids. However, the kind of music that people make doesn't necessarily re... (continued) [read more]
