Corporeality, n. 'The state of having a body or having an existence related to the body, especially as opposed to the spirit'. This series will highlight seven contemporary artists and explore their work through the common theme of the body.

Brigitte Saugstad's ceramic 'Ice Princess' series draws inspiration from her youth - she won several European championships as a junior figure skater. Although there's a child-like innocence in the Ice Princesses' joy, their bodies are mature. Saugstad explains that "Despite their robustness, their corporeality dissolves". The Princesses' bodies are movements. In their moment of joy, the Princesses seem free from all thought and worry, as if removed from their physical surroundings and their physical being.
