This past weekend was the 116th street Puerto Rican Festival and the 60th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade. This year, like every year, Boricuas from all generations showed up and showed out to celebrate their heritage as well as share awareness about the environmental and political problems Puerto Rico faces today. The atmosphere is thick with pride, joy, and most importantly love for each other and for their homeland.
