Coachella is suing Urban Outfitters due to trademark infringement.

According to the LA Weekly, the festival says an UO sub-brand Free People used the name "Coachella" without permission, associating it with a series of products like the "festival survival kit" and with items that bear the "Coachella" name as a metatag.

Having recently secured a deal with H&M -- an example the festival uses as a rightful use of its name -- Coachella has also said they sent a cease-and-desist letter to UO last year, which the clothing brand promptly ignored. They'll now be seeking compensation based on the profits UO made with all items bearing the "Coachella" description.
