As part of our Placeholder series, we're asking some of our favourite artists an incredibly simple question: 'what are you reading?'. Next up is the incredible Demo Taped.

A book that I read a while ago that I would love for people to have a look at is How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie. The book was recommended to me by a doctor when I was in the hospital. At the time, I was struggling with very intrusive anxiety that made me sick every day and eventually I was hospitalized so I thought I'd give anything a try. This book really spoke to me and I know it's a bit lame to talk about a sort-of-self-help book, but if anyone suffering reads this and can get any peace of mind from the book's messages, I'll be doing my job.

The book is really about living in the present, something I had trouble doing and honestly still have a bit of trouble doing. It includes poems and quotes but never gets too cheesy or cliché. I never thought the book would do me any good, but it did and if you are going through any kind of anxiety or depression, I urge you to give it a go!

"Ah, make the most of what we yet may spend,
Before we too into the Dust Descend;
Dust into Dust, and under Dust, to lie,
Sans Wine, sans Song, sans Singer and--sans End!"
- Omar Khayyam (quote included in the book)
