Activist Blair Imani's Equality for HER organization is releasing its first self-published print book dedicated to inclusive and intersectional women's history, titled Modern Herstory.

The idea behind the publication came from Imani's personal experiences with feeling that, because she was different, she could not evoke change. She also wanted to ensure that future generations of the femme spectrum see themselves represented and know the power they possess. Activist Feminista Jones spoke highly of the project:

"There is a power and strength in being inclusive of when teaching young people about history. It is important to teach them that history is being made as they live and breathe and projects like will insure they are aware of the people changing the world right here and right now. This book is essential, particularly at this time and in this climate."

The book features illustrations by artist Monique Le of over 50 women and femmes from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, identities, cultures, and more. Such as Founders of Black Lives Matter Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza, and Patrisse Cullors. The Women's March National Co-Chairs Linda Sarsour, Carmen Perez, Tamika Mallory, Bob Bland, as well as artists such as Solange Knowles, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna in addition to a plethora of other amazing women as well.

Modern Herstory is set to be released by the fall of 2017 but you can pre-order the book until July 10th as well as make varying contributions towards the project now over here
