Who doesn’t love a good history lesson? Especially from someone who’s lived it. In that regard, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who’s lived a fuller life than accomplished journalist, broadcaster, philanthropist, and now author, Stuart Bailie. Stuart was visiting New York, partially to do a talk and partially to catch Fontaines DC in a sweaty bar. Luckily for us, he found time in his busy schedule to talk to Ken Grand-Pierre over a cup of coffee. The talk covers some of Stuart’s career, but the primary focus is on Trouble Songs, a book he wrote which recounts the musical history of the Troubles period that took place within Northern Ireland.

“The intimacy and physicality of a small gig keeps me going.”
