How would you describe yourself in five words?

Unconstrained, humorous, conscious, curious and free.

What's the most challenging piece you've ever created?

I think one of my biggest challenges was when was commissioned to shoot Hiroshi Yamamoto’s book Hair. Hiroshi is an extremely talented and well-known stylist and HMU artist in Japan and him and his sponsors wanted to release a book with 40 different looks/styles using 40 different people. It all had to be shot in two days using only natural light. It was mid-winter so the days were very short and I did the entire shoot on 100 ISO reversal film and instant FP-100 Fuji film on a Polaroid back. Every picture had a different backdrop too. It was hectic but worked out perfectly. The book is gorgeous!

If you were in a band, what kind of music would you play?

I've actually been in bands my whole life. I’m a drummer. I’m currently starting two different projects that should be kinda experimental/rock. But most of the bands I've been in were metal and punk bands.

When was the last time you tried something new?

Humm.. It’s hard to say. Possibly a shoot I did for the cover story of the São Paulo newspaper fashion magazine.

Bill Murray. Healthy Body, Sick Mind.

Any advice for new artists?

Always go with your heart and don’t follow too many rules and guidelines when trying to be creative.

What is a movie moment that completely transformed you?

This is a hard one but pretty sure it was the first five minutes of Back To The Future.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your life?

I can’t think of something specific. It’s basically a highlight in my life every time I’m able to express my idea of beauty and communicate with others through my art.

Lastly, what are you currently working on?

Right now I’m slowly preparing another exhibition that should happen in the second half of 2018. I’m also planning a sort of art residency in NY and another one in Europe. And for commissioned work, I’ve been shooting for a few clients this month such as Postalco, Kode, Intelligence Magazine(changing their name to Haven), and preparing to shoot the spring/summer campaign for Lumine (Japanese fashion mall) next week.
