How would you describe yourself in 5 words?

Ahh this sort of question really makes me cringe but here goes: tired, goofy, anal, driven, sassy.

What's the most challenging piece you've ever created?

My most challenging piece to date was my painting 'Kill Them, Crush Me'. It was the largest painting that I've made since graduation and it was ambitious for me not only in scale but also compositionally and technically.

If you were in a band, what kind of music would you play?

Ha I'm not musical at all (I failed miserably at both piano and flute) but my best friend and I do joke about being in an all-zither ensemble called the Fopplewops and we'll only do covers.

When was the last time you tried something new?

When I finally tried acid for the first time a few months ago.

What's the most provocative piece you've ever created?

Hmm that's hard to say because it depends on what you consider provocative. I've painted people cut open with their insides spilling out, I've painted a man getting torn apart by dogs, I've painted a girl sitting on a dude's face with his erection fully out, I've painted many pieces of women openly masturbating and showing their full vaginas…

If a movie was made about your life, what actor/actress would play you and what would the film be called?

Well people already say I look like Awkwafina since we have similar Jeffrey Dammer glasses and are both Asian women so I'd pick her. It would be called Pointed: A Life of Art and Breasts and the film poster would just be a side view of one of my painted cone boobs.

What inspires you?

It sounds broad but literally, anything can inspire me. My environment, other art obviously, what happens to me and people I know of, cool things I see somewhere…

What is your most valuable skill?

Painting/drawing! That's how I make my money.

What's the best piece you've ever created?

Hopefully I still haven't made it!

Any advice for new artists?

Work really hard. Care about everything you put out there because you never know who can see it. Don't let failures or difficulties stop you and don't expect any one thing to be your "big break."

What do you consider to be the highlight of your life?

Right now! My art's going well and my personal life is too! I couldn't ask for more!

Lastly, what are you currently working on?

I'm working on mostly illustration jobs now but for shows, I am preparing for a huge collaborative show with my boyfriend Luke Pelletier opening June 2018 with SuperChief Gallery. We just previewed our first piece for the show at the Juxtapoz Club House at Art Basel and we're going to be gearing up to begin the rest of the work soon! I also have to make some new pieces for upcoming group shows with Corey Helford Gallery and New Image Art.
