Remember that anti-street harassment video that went viral last year? The woman featured in it, Shoshana Roberts, is now said to be suing its creators, the group Hollaback!, for $500,000. The reasons go from Roberts having received rape and death threats due to the immense exposure, as well as online abuse, to the fact that despite having been paid only $200 for her work in it.

She also states the company violated her rights by releasing videos that contained ""creative content, performance, image, likeness and persona for the purposes of advertising or trade without her prior written consent." "It’s frustrating when the nonprofit gets donations, and the director gets ad revenue, and I get people wanting to slit my throat," Roberts says.
