The Dreamers

This is the kind of film that makes you question your own boundaries, which is what films are supposed to do, right? The Dreamers takes strange sexual behavior and romanticizes it into an erotic french fantasy. Isabelle (Eva Green) masters a young woman's confidence in art, fashion, and sexual experimentation. Isabelle is a peculiarly fine example of a young woman.

Only Lovers Left Alive

The title speaks for itself. All of the textures, textiles, and music in this film create a world that I want to live in. Tilda Swinton is the vampire empress of my deepest darkest vampire dreams.

School of Rock

There is nobody that makes me laugh more than Jack Black. As a young kid that was picking up the guitar, School of Rock was one of those light-hearted movies that made me feel like playing music was fun. I remember rewinding the ending over and over to see all of the kids in their school uniform- turned-rock and roll outfits.

The Shining

I spent part of my childhood with my family on an abandoned ranch deep in the mountains of Arizona. A friend who visited us during a winter jokingly compared our living situation to The Shining, but at the time I was too young to understand what she was talking about. Now when I watch the movie I chuckle because with an axe murdering father and enough evil spirits floating around the ranch it wouldn't have been far off.

The Last of the Mohicans

My mother got my middle name "Day" from Daniel Day-Lewis. This is my favorite movie that he did; the hair, the warrior, the damsel in destress... Bam!
