We’ve trawled through the very best of these and picked out the top 5 films that all gamblers simply need to watch.

Stillman, sick of his life as a clerk at his father’s firm, takes up Vinson’s offer to make him the best of the best in the world of poker – all he has to do is hand over half of the fortune he is guaranteed to win at a Las Vegas Casino. 21 (2008) – IMDB Rating: 6.8/10

They take on The Strip, using a series of hand signals and code words to win everything Sturgess needs for school, and more. While this won’t help you win when you play Blackjack on the Ladbrokes UK website, it’s a great film showing some truly impressive skills which have helped people win millions in the past.

Rounders (1998) – IMDB Rating: 7.4/10

Moving into the higher IMDB ratings of 7+, Rounders may be a bit of a misnomer for this film. Rather than being about a form of baseball, this drama focuses on Matt Damon as a young, reformed gambler. Despite going to law school and steering clear of cards, his childhood friend comes to him, talking him into playing big stakes poker to help pay off the loan sharks on his tail. Matt Damon is forced to face his demons as the stakes get higher and higher – a gripping drama about the gritty world of underground gambling rings.

Casino Royale – IMDB Rating: 8.0/10

How could any list of gambling films be complete without the film that rebooted the James Bond franchise? Casino Royale strips bond of his ridiculous gadgets, focussing on the bare bones of what made this quintessentially British spy the icon he is today. The film focusses on Bond’s first mission as 007, tasked with beating a weapons dealer at a game of high stakes poker. As with all things Bond though, not everything is as it seems.
