Last summer, Arrested Development creator, Mitch Hurwitz teased the show's filming date for its much-anticipated fifth season revival. At the Netflix panel during the Television Critics Association press tour this week, it was hinted that they will begin filming the single-camera family comedy early this year. "If it does happen, it looks like the shooting will start at the beginning of 2017," he reportedly told the room. "It's the thing I’m really desperate to do. We’ve got a lot of the stories [written] and we’re ready to go," he said.

Now, show producer Brian Grazer has confirmed that they are closer than ever to locking down the details. "We are close," he said to Deadline. "I think we found a way to create the compensation structure for all the actors and create a work matrix so they can still make movies and do other things and it will all integrate. So we are really close — I think within a couple of weeks at the most."
