The great Stan Lee has passed away, aged 95.

Lee's daughter's attorney confirmed to Variety that "Lee was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday after suffering a medical emergency, and was declared dead shortly afterwards".

Stan Lee will forever be known as a force of nature in the comic book world, co-creating Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Fourearning his first credit for a Captain America story in 1941 – and so many beloved characters over the years. His tireless work transformed Marvel Comics into the powerhouse it is today and communicated socially-relevant content to the masses.

Of late, Lee had been involved in a lawsuit against "unscrupulous operators" who sought to take advantage of him in his grief-stricken state after his beloved wife Joan in 2017 and a “billion dollar lawsuithe later dropped.

"Survivors include a daughter J.C. and younger brother Larry Lieber, a writer and artist for Marvel. Another daughter, Jan, died in infancy."
