Game of Thrones is arguably the most watched show in television history, and one of the most prone to script and episode leaks. Most Season 7 details were available to the public online in some form.

HBO has decided to take a cue from Arya Stark and the Faceless Men, The Walking Dead (where fake murders by Negan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, were shot), and itself (Vulture revealed the show had filmed a fake scene with Kit Harrington and a small dragon's head before), and shoot red-herring scenes for the series finale to keep the public spoiler-free.

According to The Morning Call, HBO President Casey Bloys said the following recently, “I know Game of Thrones, the ending, they're going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens… You have to do that on a long show. Because when you're shooting something, people know. So they're going to shoot multiple versions so that there's no real definitive answer until the end.”

The final 8th Season will begin shooting around October, but may get pushed back all the way to August 2018 according to The Hollywood Reporter. That means a 2019 final release date. Stay tuned to The 405 for more updates.
