Greta Gerwig is working on an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's literary classic Little Women for Columbia Pictures as her follow-up to her massively-successful solo directorial debut Lady Bird.

Some of Lady Bird's acting talent are in talks to star in the new picture as well – including Timothée Chalamet and Saorise Ronan. Meryl Streep and Emma Stone are also in talks for starring roles in the production.

Gerwig was previously attached to this iteration of Little Women as a writer, but took over the director's chair sometime later.

Stay tuned to The 405 for more on this as we hear it.
