After a series of delays, which saw Sacha Baron Cohen abandoning the project due to "creative differences", Freddie Mercury's much anticipated biopic seems to be finally rolling. Entertainment Weekly has even unveiled a first look at Mr. Robot's Rami Malek as the late great singer (you can see it below) which leaves no doubts regarding his resemblance to Mercury: "When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment," the actor says of his first day in makeup.

Director Bryan Singer also commented on the project, saying the biopic will not be a "traditional" one: "It won’t just be the dark Freddie story, but that being said, that also will be honoured. It’s about collaboration. It’s a celebration."
