Someone, somewhere had to be pining for a new installment to the Ring franchise. Director Gore Verbinkski's 2002 adaptation of the Japanese original was one of the most successful horror films of the 2000s, even spawning a 2005 sequel that failed to resonate quite as well, posting a paltry 20% on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, some franchises can't exactly die, just like the girl (Samara) in the well, apparently. Maybe shoot her?

The 2016 installment from director F. Javier Gutiérrez, Rings, centers around the growing obsession many people are having with the original video tape in the story and one woman's (Matilda Lutz) attempt to rescue her boyfriend from his inevitable fate.

The film, also starring Vincent D’Onofrio, arrives in U.S. theaters October 28th. Catch the trailer below.
