J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures have announced that they are turning the highest grossing anime film of all time, Your Name, into a live action film. They will be working with Toho (the original production company), and Abrams' production house Bad Robot to do it – along with the original creator, writer, and director of Your Name, Makoto Shinkai.

Your Name tells the story of a boy and girl who find that they have the power to swap bodies, ultimately going on a crusade to find each other through time and space as disaster unfolds all around them. The film is the highest grossing anime film world-wide, earning $355 million – this on top of the roughly $303 million the film made in Japan alone.
