Icelandic newspaper Fréttablaðið reports that composer Jóhann Jóhannson is no longer involved with Blade Runner 2049, after being revealed in summer 2016 as the film's sole composer. In July 2017, Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch were brought on to assist.

Now, Jóhannson's contributions have been removed from the film. When reached for comment, the composer's representatives replied, “Unfortunately due to a legal Non-Disclosure Agreement Jóhann signed we're not able to speak about this film at all.”
