In rather surprising news, it's been confirmed that Captain Sauvage Johnny Depp will be the star of upcoming murder biopic Labyrinth, which is not a remake of Labyrinth.

The film is currently being shopped at the Toronto International Film Festival, based off of Randall Sullivan's 2002 book of the same name. It follows the story of former LAPD detective Russell Poole, who worked until his death last year on the still "unsolved" mystery of the deaths of rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. in the late '90s. Poole adamantly believed both killings were orchestrated by Death Row Records figurehead Suge.

Director Brad Furman's film will follow the Tupac biopic All Eyez On Me, which is expected to hit theaters in a few months.
