Creative powerhouse and Oscar winner Jordan Peele is getting back to his roots with his latest project. Somewhat.

YouTube Premium has ordered a comedic sci-fi anthology series from Peele called Weird City. Charlie Sanders, a writer on Peele’s Comedy Central series Key & Peele, is credited as co-creator on the project.

Weird City is set in the fictional metropolis of Weird where the show will examine social issues through a comedic and sci-fi lens.

Emmy winner Adam Bernstein is set to direct the first two of six episodes of Weird City which will hit YouTube Premium in 2019. Jose Molina is show-runner and executive producer and the production companies involved are Monkeypaw Productions, Sonar Entertainment, Mosaic Entertainment and Raskal Productions.

This is just one of many projects the Get Out director has in the works – check out Lovecraft Country, Peele's Twilight Zone reboot, The Hunt, a documentary series on Lorena Bobbitt, and Peele's next feature film Us, for the others, and stay with The 405 for more on all of them as we hear it.
