Kevin Smith is in the hospital recovering from a massive heart attack this past Sunday.

The 47-year old director known for movies like Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Mallrats, was in between stand-up comedy sets when he was hit with a wave of nausea and his chest felt heavy. He recounts the experience and his treatment at the hospital in a Facebook post from Monday the 26th:

"The Doctor who saved my life at the #glendale hospital told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (also known as "the Widow-Maker" because when it goes, you're a goner)," Smith explained. "If I hadn't canceled the second show to go to the hospital, the Doc said I would've died tonight. For now, I'm still above ground!"

The director went on to explain how his father lost his life in this manner, saying "generally speaking, I was okay with the end, if this was gonna be it. I’ve gotten to do so many cool things and I’ve had so many adventures."

We at The 405 wish Kevin a speedy and full recovery!
