Margot Kidder's May 13th death has been ruled a suicide by "self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose," according to Park County, Montana coroner Richard Wood. No other details will be released. . .

Kidder's daughter told the Associated Press that she knew this would be the cause when she went to her home in Livingston, Montana after Kidder's death. Still, she also says it is good the truth is out, that her family will not have to live under a cloud of shame.

Kidder, most famous for playing Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve's Superman and Kathy Lutz in the original Amityville Horror, lived with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder which likely intensified with her very public 1996 nervous breakdown after suffering several career setbacks and a car crash which left her paralyzed for two years.
