Suki Waterhouse – recently cast alongside Ryan Reynolds in Detective Pikachu – is also joining the cast of this film that tells the story of the 3 women of the Manson Family who were sentenced to death after the Tate / LaBianca Murders: Patricia Krenwinkel, Susan Atkins and Leslie Van Houten – with Matt Smith as Charles Manson.

The story will be told primarily through the lens of a young graduate student Karlene Faith, sent in to prison to teach the 3 women after their sentences were commuted to life in prison – and they face the horrific reality of their brutal crimes. This source material is based on Ed Sanders' 1971 book The Family and Faith's The Long Prison Journey of Leslie Van Houten.

Charlie Says will be helmed by American Psycho director Mary Harron and stars Hannah Murray, Odessa Young, Carla Gugino, Kayli Carter, and Merritt Wever – it comes on the heels of both Tarantino’s #9,  Manson’s death in late 2017, and The Haunting of Sharon Tate with Hilary Duff as the slain actress. It is set to begin shooting in LA in the spring. We will keep you updated as we hear more.
