The streaming wars may be heating up – with NBCUniversal being the most recent media company to enter the fray – but Netflix has nevertheless announced that it will be raising prices across all its plans in order to better cashflow its entrance into original programming.

"We change pricing from time to time as we continue investing in great entertainment and improving the overall Netflix experience for the benefit of our members," a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to USA Today on Tuesday January 15.

The streaming giant's previous $10.99/month plan will now be $12.99/month. The $7.99/month plan will now be $8.99/month, while premium 4k service is going from $13.99/month to $15.99/month. The increases will hit new subscribers first and old subscribers over the next 3 months.
