After it was reported that the Curzon Soho cinema was under threat of closing, it now looks like sister venue Curzon Mayfair may face closure thanks to noise complaints. There's a legal battle brewing between the landlord building owner and the cinema management, as the landlord attempts to turn the office space above into flats.

The property manager has sense demanded that the Curzon cinemas pay an additional £500,000 to soundproof their cinemas - but really, who has that type of money sitting around to shell out for the sake of noise pollution? On top of that, a spokesperson for the cinema has showed that since the auditorium is Grade ll-listed, they wouldn't be allowed to do the renovations, even if they had they could afford it.

With legal action escalating, the Curzon Mayfair may have to give up their lease.
