When actress Natalie Wood drowned under mysterious circumstances in 1981, she had quite the Hollywood street credit – having appeared in films like Miracle on 34th Street, West Side Story and Rebel Without a Cause. She married actor Robert Wagner and in 1981 both were enjoying reasonable professional success.

The night of November 28, Wood and Wagner were out on their boat with actor Christopher Walken and the boat's captain. Natalie would not be seen alive again after that night.

Dr. Thomas Noguchi, the coroner who did Wood's autopsy – ruling the death "accidental", this later got switched to "undetermined" in an updated coroner's report which only deepened this mystery – goes into detail about his look into Wood's death in an excerpt from his book Coroner which can be read at the Huffington Post in this 2015 article. Wagner opens up about Natalie's death here.

Now, after reopening the investigation in 2011, LA County Sheriff's Investigators are calling Wagner a "person of interest" in his late wife's death in an interview with 48 Hours airing Saturday February 3 on CBS. See a preview of that episode below.
