Well, that was short.

ABC has axed their ratings cash-cow reboot of Roseanne which premiered in March and was picked up for a second season after the first episode, after star Roseanne Barr said "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj" in a now deleted tweet, referring to former advisor to President Obama, Valerie Jarrett.

Barr apologized shortly after the statement, saying "I apologize. I am now leaving Twitter." She then came back about five minutes later to tweet the following:

Jarrett has not responded to the tweet.

Roseanne's co-star Sara Gilbert called the tweet "abhorrent" before ABC Entertainment chief Channing Dungey reiterated, "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show." Disney CEO Bob Iger weighed in on Twitter, calling the cancellation, "the right thing" to do.

Meanwhile, Roseanne has also been dropped by her agents at ICM Partners. The company said in a statement, "What she wrote is antithetical to our core values, both as individuals and as an agency.  Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her.  Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client."
