We are slowly getting to see more of how the soon arriving Pokémon flick Detective Pikachu will look like.

In early November, Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) was announced as the film's male lead, although not many clues were released to the role's nature. November 30 saw Big Little Lies' Kathryn Newton announced as the film's female lead.

Now we know that Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool 2) has been cast as Detective Pikachu in a role that is – reportedly – mostly voice-over and motion capture in nature. The film is directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps).

Not much else is known about Detective Pikachu right now, besides shooting getting underway in mid-January in London.

Stay tuned to The 405 for more on it as we hear.
