See the Trailer for HBO's New Documentary Chronicling the Life & Process of Steven Spielberg

Stephen Spielberg is undoubtedly one of the most prolific directors in cinematic history, with a filmography that really needs no introduction. It is high time he got a documentary that at least attempts to capture his genius and creative process.

HBO has sought to do just that with their 150 minute documentary picture of the great director, Spielberg. The film is directed and produced by Susan Lacy, and was put together from 30 hours of interviews with Spielberg himself, his family, friends, and collaborators, while also chronicling his somewhat troubled childhood, obsession with movie-making, and the great drive that helped get him to the top.

Just a few of the celebrities interviewed in Spielberg: J.J. Abrams, Christian Bale, Drew Barrymore, Cate Blanchett, Francis Ford Coppola, Daniel Craig, Daniel Day-Lewis, Brian de Palma, Laura Dern, Leonardo DiCaprio, Richard Dreyfuss, Ralph Fiennes, Harrison Ford, David Geffen, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Holly Hunter, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Ben Kingsley, Kathleen Kennedy, George Lucas, Liam Neeson, Martin Scorsese, Oprah Winfrey and Robert Zemeckis.

Spielberg hits the streaming service October 7, 8:00 PM EST, but can also be streamed free for one month on HBO Now.

Expect our look at the film once out. For now, enjoy the trailer below.
