Lars von Trier is back in a big way with his new serial killer thriller The House that Jack Built, starring Uma Thurman, Matt Dillon, Bruno Ganz and Riley Keough. The film will see its world premiere at Cannes this week.

The trailer is a wild a bloody one, giving us a flavor of the film that takes place in 1970s America, tracing the murders that define Jack (Dillon) as a highly intelligent and tormented serial killer, while giving us plenty of existential commentary from the titular character. The House that Jack Built indeed looks to be another dive into the void of deviant psychology, a la other von Trier films like Antichrist.
