Television has really been giving motion pictures a run for their money of late. That trend looks to continue with Amazon's newest project, created by BAFTA award winner Rowan Joffé (28 Weeks Later).

Tin Star (2017) tells the story of former British Detective Jim Worth (Tim Roth) who moves his family to the picturesque town of Little Big Bear in the Canadian Rockies for a better life. Yet, when a vast oil refinery moves in, headed by corporate liaison Elizabeth Bradshaw (Christina Hendricks) a great number of oil workers descend on the town – bringing all sorts of vice with them (prostitution, gambling, drug running), which brings organized crime to the town.

Tin Star also stars Oliver Coopersmith (Dickensian), Abigail Lawrie (The Casual Vacancy), Christopher Heyerdahl (Hell on Wheels), Genevieve O’Reilly (The Honourable Woman), Stephen Walters (Outlander), Roark Critchlow (Pretty Little Liars), Ian Puleston-Davies (Coronation Street), Sarah Podemski (Cashing In), Kevin Hanchard (Orphan Black), and Ryan Kennedy (Hellcats).
